Daniel Rubin, ND, FABNO Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Rubin is board certified in naturopathic oncology. As a consultant and practicing physician of naturopathic oncology, Dr. Rubin offers his services to both private patients as well as medical professionals and hospitals. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from The University of Iowa and his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Tempe, AZ, where he also completed his residency (1997-1998). Most recently Dr. Rubin is an adjunct faculty member in Oncology at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. In addition to his academic governmental appointment to the Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board in the state of Arizona where he acts as a officer, Dr. Rubin is also an Assistant Editor of the peer-reviewed and indexed medical journal, Integrative Cancer Therapies, the Oncology Editor of the peer-reviewed, International Journal of Naturopathic Medicine and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Hematology Oncology News and Issues. Additionally, Dr. Rubin is the Founding President and current Board Member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Founding Vice Chair of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology Board of Medical Examiners. In the hospital setting Dr. Rubin has established a naturopathic oncology practice at the East Valley Regional Cancer Center on the Chandler Regional Hospital campus. He also serves in a consulting role to Osceola Cancer Center at Celebration Hospital in Celebration, FL, regarding program and clinical trial development. Dr. Rubin has designed other clincial trials that with IRB oversight. Most recently, Naturopathic Specialists has joined forces with Arizona Cancer Institute to develop truly integrative oncology clinics. Dr. Rubin actively functions as a mentor physician for medical students and Residents, serving two Naturopathic Medical Schools. He is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association as well as The Arizona Clinical Oncology Society. He also serves on the Elite Medical Advisory Board of Allergy Research Group, Inc., a publicly-held company specializing in nutraceutical research and product formulation with a focus on oncology. A frequent lecturer in both the academic and professional settings, Dr, Rubin has been asked to speak both nationally and internationally regarding oncology. He has appeared on local television regarding his work in oncology and has been featured in local newspapers and national magazines. Born and raised in Glencoe, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Dr. Rubin's wife, Debi, is also a naturopathic physician with a focus on Women’s Medicine.
Lise Alschuler, ND, FABNO
Dr. Lise Alschuler is a naturopathic doctor. She graduated from Brown University in 1988 with an undergraduate degree in Medical Anthropology. In 1994, she graduated from Bastyr University Naturopathic Medical school. Since graduating, Dr. Alschuler has taught botanical medicine, gastroenterology and clinical skills to naturopathic students. She was founding Chair of the Botanical Medicine program at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1995 - 1996. From 1996 to 1999, she was Chair of the Botanic and clinical associate professor of the training clinic for Bastyr University naturopathic, acupuncture, and nutrition students from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, she became the director of the naturopathic medicine department at Cancer Treatment Centers of America - Midwestern Regional Medical Center in greater Chicago, IL. In this position, she manages the provision of care and program development provided by the Department of Naturopathic Medicine at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern). Midwestern is a 95-bed JCAHO accredited regional hospital specializing in the provision of oncology care. The basis of the program at Midwestern is the provision of comprehensive integrative cancer care managed by Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Dr. Alschuler has published numerous articles on herbal medicine and naturopathic medicine in the lay press as well as in the medical literature She co-authored a comprehensive guide for the layperson and health professional alike: Definitive Guide to Cancer: An Integrative Approach to Prevention, Treatment and Healing (Celestial Arts, 2007). She has lectured extensively on these topics nationally as well as internationally. In September 2000, she was named by Seattle Magazine as one of Seattle’s Top Doctors. She currently serves as the President on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, is on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology, and is immediate past President of the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She believes that her job as a naturopathic physician and educator is to stimulate and support the innate healing processes within each individual by applying a scientifically based strategy that utilizes the most natural and least harmful approaches possible. Marianne Marchese, N.D.
Dr. Marchese is a clinician, author, and educator. She graduated from Creighton University in 1990 with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and specialized in neurological and orthopedic conditions while working at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. Marchese received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland Oregon. She completed a two-year postgraduate residency in Integrative Medicine and Women’s Health and completed a six-month post-graduate certification training in Environmental Medicine. Dr. Marchese has been an adjunct faculty member at a post-graduate college since 2003. At National College of Naturopathic Medicine she supervised and taught students at the medical center focusing on environmental medicine and women’s health. At Life Chiropractic College she taught applied nutrition and toxicology/pharmacology. Currently at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine she supervises and teaches at the medical clinic in the areas of environmental medicine and women’s health. Dr. Marchese has had articles published in the area of environmental medicine and women’s health in magazines and journals such as; Raising Arizona Kids Magazine, Taste for Life Magazine, Townsend Letter and Symbiosis Journal. Dr. Marchese has given numerous presentations on environmental medicine and women’s health to both the public and to physicians. She is a well recognized speaker and has presented at the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians Convention, Southwest Naturopathic Medical Convention, The Institute of Women’s Health and Integrative Medicine and San Francisco State University.
